How We Saved $2038 On Vacation Using Daily Deals

That’s right, we saved $2038 on a 5-day trip to Los Angeles, and you can do it too. We are going to list all the vouchers we purchased from Groupon, Living Social, and Travelzoo and give you a full breakdown of all the savings. When we decide to travel somewhere, one of the first things we do is start shopping for online vouchers in advance. They really help you have the best trip possible. We love finding great deals in a city we are traveling to. Check out this post that gives more info on how to use online vouchers to do more and save more on vacation.

Saving money doesn’t mean sacrificing quality

Check out a few examples of the quality you can enjoy when you do some homework and purchase online vouchers in advance.

The Georgian Hotel

Our suite was grand and luxurious, gorgeous and romantic…And the view was absolutely gorgeous!
With some advance planning and deal watching, we found a Groupon that put in us one of the best suites we’ve ever had for only $237 per night.

Taverno Arros Y Vi Restaurant

This warm, wonderful restaurant oozes romance and serves absolutely scrumptious food.
Planning ahead really paid off here too. We had a delicious meal in a beautiful restaurant for less than half price – and the restaurant was only 2 blocks from the Georgian Hotel!

Whale Watching Cruise

These types of nature experiences don’t come with any guarantees. We wanted to see a humpback whale so badly. We were lucky to see 3 humpback whales and dozens of Sea Lions.
And, as if that weren’t enough, on the way back dozens of dolphins swam along our boat. We were in the bow and right on top of them as they jumped and played alongside us.
And those are only a few examples from this one trip. We’ve been doing this for 3 years. We haven’t kept track of all the savings, but they easily total more than $10,000. Imagine how much you could save.

Sometimes You Just Gotta Pay Full Price

Sure you can’t always find a voucher deal for every meal or activity, but you can always find enough to radically enhance your vacation.

The Bottom Line Isn’t the Bottom Line

Of course, the real goal is not to save money but to create a better, richer experience for yourself. Without a doubt, online vouchers have helped us vacation more and better. Who doesn’t love a great deal?
